Women's Missionary Union (WMU)
The Women's Missionary Union (WMU) is the umbrella that encompasses many mission organizations from preschoolers to adults of all ages. Participation in the various WMU activities gives us the opportunity to match our faith with our lifestyle. Mission involvement is a result of learning about and understanding God's plan for sharing Christ with the lost.
At French Broad Baptist, we support missions through prayer, giving, and hands-on projects. We become aware of needs in our community and try to help resolve those needs through prayer and acts of compassion. The WMU sponsored activities at French Broad include: donations to our local food pantry, collection of school supplies, contributions to Appalachian Ministries of the Smokies,Coats for the Cold, giving funds for World Hunger, providing coats for children in area schools, remembering nursing home residents and those unable to leave their homes, and "showering" clients of Life Outreach.
Men's Ministry (Brotherhood)
Men's Ministry meets on the first Saturday of each month at Owens Restaurant in Dandridge. We discuss opportunities in our community and within our church. As men of God, we face everything all men face- temptation, negative situations, and strugglesin life. As we study the scriptures and wisdom that comes from God, we learn how to react to all the situations, to work through them, and to be able to share with others how God can help them overcome the trials of life.
As husbands, fathers, sons, and Christian men, we learn through Bible study how we can meet the physical and emotional needs of those around us. People need to see the gospel lived out in our lives as we pray for each other and encourage all to be the man God wants us to be in our home, our neighborhood, and our workplace. Women's Ministry of French Broad Baptist Church
The Women's Ministry mission statement is "Connecting Women to God, His Word, and each other through every season of life."
Our Koinonia Women's Ministry is a fellowship where women can grow in the knowledge, understanding, and application of God's Word. Our church offers a place where women can be uplifted, strengthened, and learn from each other. Our women's ministry offers several avenues or opportunities for members. First, we study. We offer opportunities to study God's word through Bible Study held throughout the year. Secondly, we offer the opportunity for the women of our church to serve others. Thirdly, we offer safe places where women can find Biblically-sound support for each other. Finally, we offer fellowship where the women of our church can benefit by meeting together with other believers.
Our Women's Ministry have several sponsored activites throughout the year to strengthen our sisterhood. Some of these activities include the annual Christmas dinner/gala, game night, painting classes, card making classes, monthly luncheons, and Bible studies.
